Martin
and Staff,
Just returned
from a camping trip up into the Pyrenees wine region
of Victoria. Was a CLASSIC example of our reason for
adding 4 Motion AWB and raised suspension to our Trakkadu.
Followed a dirt road (to an alleged camping spot) which
became a dirt track and then got A LOT WORSE. The going
was loose rocky slope with frequent washaways from recent
rains and so Very steep that the orange warning light
on the dash was flashing almost continually as the computer
shunted drive from one corner wheel to the other in
an attempt to keep the car rolling. No possibility of
turning around and no phone coverage if we couldn’t
get out.
Finally,
after 15km made it to the top of the range to find a
sign at the start of where we had come from warning
“VERY STEEP 4 WHEEL DRIVE ONLY”. Wish there
had been one advising this at the bottom of the climb.
The only way out was down the same way we had come and
an hour later we were down on the flat again.
Thought you
would like the tale as we could not help but remember
at time of our speccing our purchase saying we had no
intention of going serious off roading but “You
never know when you may find yourself down a long deteriorating
track and needing to get out of trouble”. At the
time we had been thinking of the Northern Territory
somewhere perhaps.
Well we were
only in a tourist wine region in central Victoria but
the memory of that conversation came back loud and strong.
The small group of dirt trail bike riders we came across
at the top looked at us in amazement as we headed back
down the hill.
Thanks
again for an amazing vehicle. Sorry we don’t have
any pics to send but Noela was gripping onto the passenger
side grab handle with white knuckles and I was concentrating
on keeping the car rolling because it felt like we would
never get started again once we stopped -

It
has been very rewarding to have been able to trust in
our purchase decision with barely any chance to see
the motorhome before deciding. I appreciate your efforts
and professionalism -

We
love our motorhome and have had a few short trips away.
We always attract a crowd wherever we go. Thank you
so much. You were the best people to deal with, had
the best product to sell and from what we hear, the
only company that has after sales service. We meet people
that want to upgrade or downgrade their current motorhome
so let's hope they are future Trakka clients - Bev
& Keith, proud Torino Xtra owners |
| Ian
& Cathy, Torino owners - We sincerely
thank you for providing us with an exceptionally positive
experience as we have dealt with you through your people.
From our first contact with your company, when we found
the vehicle in your showroom that was perfectly suited
to our particular travelling needs, we have felt Trakka
is a unique business in this competitive field.
And
now, after 3 years of working with you, we would like
to say how pleased we are with the outstanding effort
your team has done in ensuring the warranty servicing
on our vehicle has been professionally & courteously
conducted.
In
particular, we would like to express thanks
to David Wallis for ensuring that, at the conclusion
of the warranty period, we can say we have absolutely
no complaints about our motorhome. Every item that needed
adjustment, repair or replacement under the warranty
agreement has been dealt with.
Be assured, we will have no second thoughts about recommending
your company to others as we meet them on our journey. |

Retirement
loomed and the big question for us was: Will we explore
Australia in a 4WD and Camper Trailer or a campervan?
Over 3 years we meticulously considered our options
at successive Caravan and Camping shows at Rosehill
Racecourse by asking LOTS of questions of company reps
and seeing countless demonstartions of what their products
had to offer.
We
were almost taken in by the Camper Trailer idea, but
then started to think of the hassles of finding oursleves
on narrow bush tracks with nowhere to turn, and our
lack of experience at towing anything. Dave Berry of
Trakka took the time to show us the features of a VW
all wheel drive turbo diesel long wheel base campervan.
His practical, experienced, non-pushy and interested
approach convinced us that we would also be buying experience
and customer service if we went with the new Vee-Dub!
We
liked the design features such as the swing around front
seats, the hot water and shower option and the secure
and modern cupboards and drawers. But especially, we
would have the confidence knowing the vehicle engaged
all wheel automatically if we started to slip on dirt,
sand or stony tracks. The feel that one is driving a
car rather than a truck was also attractive. We were
prepared to sacrifice the convenience of separation
of transport and home for an all in one European design
enhanced by a conversion from one of Australia and NZ's
most experienced companies of this nature.
Pickup
day was marked by Dave speanding nearly three unrushed
hours with us making sure that we felt comfortable with
all features. Despite our initial fears of 6 manual
gears, we soon felt comfortable with this, and we were
soon after off for a 4000km 'shakedown' trip to Corner
Country in the far north-west of NSW.
We
are happy to report that the van performed like a dream,
and stayed quite intact despite 1500km of bone-shaking
corrugations, sandy dunes, clay pans and gibber roads....
a little more than just getting onto dirt for a few
km to gain access to National park camping areas as
we originally imagined." Gary
and Bronlyn - Trakka Customers |
Trakka's
motorhome has been voted the most innovative motorhome
avaliable in Australia - CCIA
and MHIA Awards, Caravan and Motorhome
Magazine Awards |
| The
service and professionalism of your staff, both before
and after the sale, is something which is very rare nowadays.
We are delighted to say we are more than pleased with
the comfort and performance of the vehicle - Marj
and Brian (Trakka Customers) |
| I
decided on Trakka to do my conversion because of the quality
of design and workmanship I had seen on Trakka products.
